Our team of experienced investors works across Europe, with more than 10 European languages spoken among them. The investment team consists of 15 professionals focusing on deal execution and value creation across the full investment lifecycle.

Samuel Austin
Financial Controller, Finance
Sam is the Financial Controller for AnaCap, having joined in 2019 as FP&A Associate. He focuses on the statutory reporting of the corporate entities as well as the FP&A across the group (Funds + corporate). Previously, Sam worked as a financial accountant for GAM and an associate in Finance for Deutsche Bank where he did his graduate training.
He is a member of ICAEW (ACA) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with Statistical modelling from Imperial College London.
Max Berg
Associate, Investor Relations
Max is an Associate in the Investor Relations team, having joined AnaCap in 2021. Previously Max worked at Mizuho Bank where he was an analyst in the Leverage Finance department.
He is ACCA qualified and holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Finance and Economics from Manchester University.
Victoria Brown
General Counsel
Victoria is the is the General Counsel at AnaCap, responsible for all legal, regulatory and compliance related activities across the AnaCap group. She is also responsible for wider operational matters, including the development, implementation, and execution of AnaCap’s ESG and DE&I strategy, policy, and initiatives, as well as HR and training.
Victoria joined AnaCap in 2015 as a Senior Legal Counsel, prior to which she spent 9 years at Linklaters LLP in the Corporate department in London and Hong Kong where she advised clients on a broad range of transactional and other legal matters.
She holds an honours degree in Jurisprudence from Oxford University, a joint honours degree in English and History from Queen Mary, University of London, and a distinction in the LPC from BPP Law School in London.
Peter Cartwright
Partner
Peter joined as a Partner in 2006 at the beginning of the firm’s creation and led AnaCap’s Private Equity business until 2022. He is a Member of the Investment Recommendation Committee and supports value creation across the portfolio companies.
Peter has extensive experience across the financial services sector where he has operated throughout his entire career and prior to AnaCap held various Executive roles across the sector including Commercial Director within a leading private equity-backed insurance services provider. Prior to this he also held a number of senior roles within GMAC and the UK Consumer Finance division of GE Capital.
Graeme Chaffe
Chief Financial Officer
Graeme is the Chief Financial Officer at AnaCap, having joined the firm in 2008. He is responsible for all financial activities across the AnaCap group, as well as wider operational matters, including systems, infrastructure, and facilities. Graeme sits on the Board of Directors and chairs the Remuneration and Nomination Committee.
Prior to joining AnaCap, Graeme spent 4 years at Price Bailey LLP, where he led audit engagements across a variety of industries, including financial and professional services.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Nassim Cherchali
Managing Partner
Nassim is AnaCap’s Managing Partner. He joined AnaCap in 2008 and has been responsible for establishing and building AnaCap’s investment strategy in the French market as well as more broadly in Europe and the UK.
Prior to AnaCap, he worked at Lehman Brothers in London where he was a member of the Financial Institutions Group, advising clients in insurance, banking, and consumer finance.
He holds a Master de Grande École de Commerce in Management and Finance from ESCP Europe Business School.
Emilia Eguiguren
Legal and Compliance Associate
Emilia is a Legal and Compliance Associate, having joined AnaCap in 2023. Previously Emilia worked as an Associate at Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero Du & Uría. She was admitted to the Chilean Bar holds a Masters in Law from King’s College and a Bachelors in Law from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile.
Joe Giannamore
Group Executive Chairman
Joe founded AnaCap in 2005 and is currently the Executive Chairman. Through his vast experience, he supports the execution of AnaCap’s investment strategy across Europe, backing talented entrepreneurs and driving growth in Software, Technology and Services within the Financial Ecosystem.
Before founding AnaCap, Joe co-founded auto finance company On:line Finance, which was the first investment grade rated start-up in Europe and the first lender over the internet in Europe. From launch, On:line grew to over a billion dollars in assets within five years and was one of the ten fastest growing companies in the UK during that period. On:line was subsequently acquired by GMAC UK, the UK finance arm of General Motors, with Joe becoming CEO of GMAC UK. Previously, he was a Vice President at Salomon Brothers.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from American University in Washington and an MBA from London Business School.
Steven Gringoire
Director, Investment Team
Steven is an Investment Director, having joined AnaCap in 2019 as an Associate. He was involved in the investment into MRH Trowe and is today a member of its supervisory board.
Previously, Steven worked at J.P. Morgan as an analyst in the FIG EMEA M&A team and at EY in the transaction advisory team.
Steven graduated magna cum laude with an M.Sc. in Economic and Finance from the Louvain School of Management and is a CFA charter holder.
Jamal Ismayilov
Partner
Jamal is a Partner, having joined AnaCap in 2019. He focuses on value creation within portfolio companies Fintus, MDB, Nest and pfs with over 20 years of experience in financial services, specialising in strategic and operational transformations. Previously Jamal was a Partner in the Financial Services practice at Oliver Wyman and a Head of Financial Strategy at Nomura International.
He holds a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from the University of Oxford and Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Texas Tech University.
Maria Maciagowska
Associate, Investment Team
Maria is an Investment Associate, having joined AnaCap in 2023. Previously Maria worked at an early-stage Venture Capital Fund – Entrepreneur First and a tech-focused investment bank GP Bullhound.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Manchester.
Alessandro Manfe
Manager, Investment Team
Alessandro is an Investment Manager, having joined AnaCap in 2021 as a Summer Associate. He was involved in the investment into Orbyt, and he is operationally involved in the investments into WebID and gtt. Previously Alessandro worked at a PE deal sourcing firm and for BNP Paribas.
He holds a Master in Finance at London Business School and a Laurea Magistrale from the University of Padua.
Robert Massey
Partner
Robert is a Partner, having joined AnaCap in 2015. He focuses on value creation within portfolio companies Further, Orbyt, WebID and Wealthtime, with a wider mandate covering the acquisition process including commercial and operational due diligence, management team assessments and value creation plans. Previously Robert was a Principal in the Financial Services practice at Oliver Wyman
He holds a first class Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Oxford.
Nicholas Montoute
Director, Investment Team
Nicholas is an Investment Director, having joined AnaCap in 2016 as an Associate. He was involved in the investments into Oona Health and Wealthtime. Previously Nicholas worked at Canaccord Genuity (formerly Hawkpoint Partners), where he was an Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group.
He holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Manchester.
Thomas Nield
Head of Funds, Finance
Tom is Head of Funds in the Finance Team, having joined AnaCap in 2015 as a Fund Accountant. He is responsible for fund operations, fund reporting and Investment Team transaction support. Previously Tom worked at PwC within the investment management group of the Assurance practice.
He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Economic History from Edinburgh University.
Benjamin O’Donohoe
Accountant, Finance
Ben is an Accountant in the Finance Team, having joined AnaCap in 2022. He has a wide range of responsibilities across the Corporate and Funds Teams. Previously Ben worked as a financial auditor in a mid-tier accounting firm.
Ben is ACA qualified and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Leeds.
George Pruteanu
Manager, Investment Team
George is an Investment Manager, having joined AnaCap in 2021 as a Summer Associate. He was involved in the investments into Market Pay, Fintus and pfs. Previously George worked at Axxess Capital, a Romania- based PE firm focused on CEE financial services and software.
He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Bucharest and is fluent in English and Romanian.
Alberto Sainaghi
Managing Director, Investment Team
Alberto is a Managing Director responsible for sourcing and executing investment opportunities as well as financing across the portfolio having joined AnaCap in 2015 as an Associate. Alberto is based in Milan and was involved in the investments into Yard Reaas, Orbyt, Milleis, Market Pay, and Ellisphere. Previously Alberto worked at Barclays Capital where he was part of the Financial Institutions Group.
He holds a Master de Grande École de Commerce in Management and Finance (with Distinction) from ESCP Europe Business School, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (summa cum laude) from LIUC Business School.
Neil Slessor
Infrastructure Support Manager
Neil is an Infrastructure Support Manager in the IT & Systems team. Previously Neil worked at Ondra Partners where he was an IT Manager as well as Lehman Brothers and Standard Bank London.
He holds MCSE, MCSA, CCNA & Azure Administrator Associate certifications.
Damjan Stojanovic
Director, Investment Team
Damjan is an Investment Director, having joined AnaCap in 2018 as an Associate. He was involved in the investments into Fintus, WebID, MRH Trowe and Wealthtime. Previously Damjan worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
He holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree (cum laude) in International Economics, Management and Finance from Bocconi University.
